Football Recap: Enfield Takes a Loss

Enfield lost against New Britain back in October of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles had to suffer through a 50-15 loss at the hands of the Golden Hurricanes. The Eagles were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Despite the loss, Enfield still got an impressive performance from Sawyer Pequita, who rushed for 107 yards.

Jayden Allen produced another solid performance rushing for 290 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry for New Britain. Those 290 rushing yards gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Seymour, who threw for 131 yards and three TDs on only six passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Enfield and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for New Britain, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enfield will challenge Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Britain, they will square off against Southington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
