Softball Recap: Colcord Hornets vs. Quapaw Wildcats
Colcord hadn't done well against Quapaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Hornets walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Wildcats. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Shae Downing was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.
In other batting news, Gracie Evans was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Karah Downing also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
