Basketball Game Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. Justin Garza Guardians

The Madera Coyotes will head out on the road to challenge the Justin Garza Guardians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Madera was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to Sanger West. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Justin Garza scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Sunnyside by a score of 56-53.

Madera will have to contain Tyla Maxey as she made an impact in Justin Garza's last game. She posted 18 points. The game was Maxey's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Diaz, who earned nine points.

Justin Garza's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Madera, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Madera skirted past Justin Garza 45-42 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madera since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
