Football Recap: Hayden Rubio and Hayden Wolf Lead the Defense for Elida Win

Elida won the last time they faced Roy/Mosquero and Cason Norman did his part to make sure it happened again. The Tigers snuck past the Blue/Lady Blue with a 66-60 victory on Friday thanks in part to Norman, who rushed for 470 yards and nine touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.

Elida didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hayden Rubio and Hayden Wolf.

Elida's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Roy/Mosquero, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Elida is set to square off against their familiar foe Grady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Norman and Trey Rush. Meanwhile, Roy/Mosquero will take on rival Floyd at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
