Basketball Recap: Louisville Comes Up Short

Louisville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 50-39 to the Westlake Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Warriors are ranked 20th).

Mathis Dritz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westlake, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Dritz's afternoon made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madison McDonald, who posted nine points and six assists.

Louisville now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Westlake, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Louisville will take on St. Monica at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. St. Monica will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Louisville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westlake, they will square off against Birmingham at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
