Football Recap: Montgomery Skates Past Caney Creek with Ease

Montgomery never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Caney Creek Panthers 48-0. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Panthers are ranked 795th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

The victory got Montgomery back to even at 1-1. As for Caney Creek, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 48-0 win against Elgin on the 12th. As for Caney Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 defeat against Willis on the 12th.
