Baseball Recap: Kendrick Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sumter County

Kendrick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sumter County Panthers, falling 30-16. One positive for the Cherokees, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Kendrick's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Sumter County, they pushed their record up to 3-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Kendrick will head out to square off against Shaw at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kendrick has given up an average of 19.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Sumter County, they will host Hardaway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sumter County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.
