Soccer Recap: Monterey Takes a Loss

If Monterey was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of North Salinas last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monterey Dores fell 4-2 to the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dores of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monterey fell to 2-1. As for Pajaro Valley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Monterey will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Soquel at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Pajaro Valley will take on Watsonville in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
