Basketball Recap: Riverview Gets the Win

Riverview won the last time they faced California and Isabel Chaparro did her part to make sure it happened again. The Raiders took down the Trojans 67-50 on Saturday thanks in part to Chaparro, who posted 44 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Riverview's points.

When it comes to explaining why California lost, don't look at Hayley Gibson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Gibson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Riverview now has a winning record of 2-1. As for California, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Riverview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-43 win against Brentwood on the 12th. As for California, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-35 defeat against West Greene on the 8th.
