Baseball Recap: Richmond Comes Up Short

Richmond had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it 13. They came up short against the Hercules Titans, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Wednesday.

Richmond saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Malava, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Hercules, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8-1. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Hercules' side, the team relied heavily on Luis Suarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Suarez has posted since back in March. Gabriel Symonds also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Richmond has already played their next game, a 14-2 victory against Mt. Diablo on the 9th. As for Hercules, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 win against Swett on the 9th.
