Baseball Recap: Williamson Comes Up Short

Williamson had lost three straight on the road, but on Sunday they dropped down to 7-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Geneva Panthers, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 30 runs in the game before, the Marauders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Geneva, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Geneva's part, Dylan Weisner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Weisner a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lawson Pontes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Williamson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Geneva, they will host Penn Yan Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
