Softball Game Preview: Pauls Valley Panthers vs. Varnum Whippets

The Pauls Valley Panthers will take on the Varnum Whippets at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, Pauls Valley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Holdenville. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Varnum came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Fighting Chicks get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

Pauls Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Varnum, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
