Softball Recap: Odessa's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Odessa extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping them up to 10-8. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Summit Christian Academy Eagles, sneaking past 3-1. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bella Blackaby spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Odessa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenna Pierson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was Pierson's first of the season.

As for Summit Christian Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since September 3, 2024.

On Summit Christian Academy's side, they also let their pitcher toss all eight innings and she was also dialed-in: Karli Miller gave up three earned runs on six hits and racked up 20 Ks. Miller has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Odessa will head out to square off against Harrisonville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Summit Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
