High school softball home run leaders

Alabama and Texas seniors lead the nation with 31 dingers each.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, seniors Lilly Bethune of West Limestone (Lester, Ala.) and Hannah Wells of Coahoma (Texas) are high school softball's national co-leaders when it comes to home runs with 31.

Bethune wrapped up her career with 72 home runs and will continue her career at Middle Tennessee State.

Wells was dominant at the plate and in the circle in leading her team to a state championship in Texas. She batted .602 along with her home run total while going 22-1 with a 0.49 ERA for the Bulldogs.

Baylor Bockhaus of Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.) is the top freshman on the list and No. 7 overall with 25 home runs. A two-year varsity player, the shortstop already has 40 career home runs.
