Recap: San Juan Spartans vs. Golden Sierra Grizzlies

This season hasn't been kind to the San Juan Spartans, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 47-18 loss at the hands of Golden Sierra. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat San Juan has suffered since November 25, 2023.

Golden Sierra found their leader in underclassman Skyler Tory, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tory has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Lesher, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

San Juan's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.5 points per game. As for Golden Sierra, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Juan will take on Rio Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Vista will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Golden Sierra, they will be playing at home against Esparto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
