Softball Recap: Vidalia Heritage Academy's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Vidalia Heritage Academy had lost five games at home, but after bumping their record up to 2-11 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders as they made off with a 12-4 win. The Eagles' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

Libby Clark was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison McLain, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Grace Todd, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Vidalia Heritage Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in seven consecutive matchups.

As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. They haven't had much luck with Vidalia Heritage Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

On First Preparatory Christian Academy's side, Kyndall Wynter made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Charlie Mulling, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
