Elkhorn South came out on top against Lincoln Northeast  on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Storm put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp  12-5 victory. Considering the Storm have won four games by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
The team  relied heavily on  Lauren Schneider, who  went 4-for-5 with one  home run and five  RBI. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Delaney Shield, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 Elkhorn South was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .472. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The  win made it two in a row for Elkhorn South and  bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5  runs in those games. As for Lincoln Northeast, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record  this season.
 Elkhorn South didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  15-3  win against Grand Island on the 29th. As for Lincoln Northeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  12-5  defeat against Hastings on the 29th.
