Football Recap: Jeffrey Garcia Key Part of Team Effort in Parrots Win

Poly lost to Verdugo Hills back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Parrots snuck past the Dons with a 20-14 win. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Parrots were the better team in the second half.

Poly got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeffrey Garcia out in front who rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown. Those 132 rushing yards gave Garcia a new career-high. Alejandro Ojeda also helped out with an impressive 108 receiving yards.

The win made it two in a row for Poly and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games. As for Verdugo Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
