Soccer Game Preview: Montclair vs. Don Lugo

Montclair and Don Lugo are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Montclair Cavaliers will head out on the road to take on the Don Lugo Conquistadores at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Montclair is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Chino just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Cavaliers happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Don Lugo hasn't lost a match since January 10th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. They played to a draw too, finishing 0-0 against Diamond Ranch. The Conquistadores' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Montclair's draw gives them a new season record of 12-4-3. Meanwhile, Don Lugo's record is now 10-3-3.

Montclair came out on top in a nail-biter against Don Lugo when the teams last played on January 10th, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montclair since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
