Basketball Recap: Kory Harvey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crownpoint over Penasco + How To Watch

Crownpoint was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 58-47 to the Penasco Panthers. The Eagles were down 51-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kory Harvey, who posted six points and four steals. Harvey is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucian Endito, who had six points and seven rebounds.

Penasco was led to victory by Kaileb Atencio and Angelo Zamora. Atencio went 8-for-16 to rack up 21 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists, while Zamora shot 60% from the field en route to 20 points along with eight boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Zamora is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Chavez, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 14 points.

Crownpoint's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Penasco, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Crownpoint is taking a road trip to challenge Cuba at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Penasco, they and Mora will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Rangers/Rangerettes have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
