Basketball Game Preview: Fresno Warriors vs. Strathmore Spartans

The Fresno Warriors and the Strathmore Spartans will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Fresno's tournament run continued when they took on Coalinga on Wednesday. Fresno was beaten by Coalinga 58-31. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 753rd, while the Horned Toads are ranked 351st).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Strathmore's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Tulare Western by a score of 30-28.

Fresno's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Strathmore, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Fresno came up short against Strathmore when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 57-48. Thankfully for Fresno, Jazmine Soto (who dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
