It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Shawnee Mission North can now relate to. They came up short against the Olathe West Owls on Thursday, falling 63-42. On the bright side, the 42- point performance marked the Bison's highest-scoring matchup to date.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olathe West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Hale, who threw for 273 yards and four TDs while completing 86.4% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Hale a new career-high in passer rating (165.3). Sam Krzykowski was another key pass catcher, gaining 209 total yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Shawnee Mission North and nudges their season record down to 1-8. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games. As for Olathe West, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
