Preview: St. Paul Swordsmen vs. Vista Murrieta Broncos
The St. Paul Swordsmen just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Vista Murrieta Broncos at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Vista Murrieta took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Paul, who comes in off a win.
St. Paul's and Don Lugo's contest on Tuesday was close at halftime, but St. Paul turned on the heat in the second half with 34 points. St. Paul simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Don Lugo 57-30 on the road.
Meanwhile, Vista Murrieta pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Hills. While losing is never fun, Vista Murrieta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 744th, while Oak Hills is ranked 292nd).
The win got St. Paul back to even at 7-7. As for Vista Murrieta, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
