Basketball Recap: Montclair Piles Up the Points Against the Webb Schools

A well-balanced attack led Montclair over The Webb Schools in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Montclair Cavaliers blew The Webb Schools Gauls out of the water with a 34-7 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cavaliers had established a 26 point advantage.

Lauren Gutierrez and Pristine Thomas certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Gutierrez posted four points, while Thomas had a point along with 12 boards and three steals. Thomas has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Montclair's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for The Webb Schools, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mesa Grande Academy the next time they take the court. The Webb Schools will head out to face Mesa Grande Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Montclair will head out to face them at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
