Soccer Recap: Clovis East Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Clovis East, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Clovis West Golden Eagles a 1-0 shutout on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Timberwolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 81st).

Clovis East's one-goal win came courtesy of Alana Barron, who's now up to three this season.

Clovis East now has a winning record of 6-5-5. As for Clovis West, they moved to 12-2-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Clovis East will be playing in front of their home fans against Clovis at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis East's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Clovis West, they are taking a road trip to take on Buchanan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buchanan will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Clovis West surely won't give up without a fight.
