Claxton has gone 9-1 against Portal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Claxton Tigers challenge Portal Panthers at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Claxton and seven for Portal.

Friday just wasn't the day for Claxton's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to Jenkins County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Claxton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Strickland, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Portal lost 11-2 to Bryan County on Friday.

Portal's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Claxton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Claxton beat Portal 5-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Claxton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
