Basketball Recap: Science Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Science Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the Roxborough Wolves.

Jaylah Holmes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Roxborough, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Holmes a new career-high in blocks (four). Gabrielle Austin was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Science Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Roxborough, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Science Leadership Academy will host Olney at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Roxborough, they will be playing at home against Kensington at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
