Softball Recap: Holden's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Holden unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Odessa Bulldogs by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 9-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Holden's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Odessa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Coming up, Holden will host Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.4, the Trojans 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Odessa, they are taking a road trip to challenge Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
