Soccer Game Preview: Amador Valley vs. Carondelet

The Amador Valley Dons will face off against the Carondelet Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amador Valley's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Carondelet's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Amador Valley is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering San Ramon Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wolves by a score of 1-0. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Dons couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Carondelet waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They never let the Gaels onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Give the Cougars' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Carondelet pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five games. As for Amador Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Everything went Amador Valley's way against Carondelet in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Amador Valley made off with a 3-0 victory. Does Amador Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carondelet turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
