Soccer Game Preview: Saint Mary's vs. Albany

The Saint Mary's Panthers will head out to challenge the Albany Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Mary's will be strutting in after a victory while Albany will be coming in after a loss.

Saint Mary's is headed out to face Albany after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Panthers blew past Richmond 7-0 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Saint Mary's in their matchups with Richmond: they've now won six in a row.

Saint Mary's offense was hitting Richmond from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Sophia De Loa Ramirez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Albany kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinole Valley. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Saint Mary's couldn't quite get it done against Albany in their previous matchup back in January as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
