Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Asuante Mickel and Dewayne Thompsom Lead Chaney to Victory

After losing to East the last time they met, Chaney decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cowboys secured a 10-6 W over East on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Leading Chaney to victory were Dewayne Thompsom and Asuante Mickel. Thompsom gained 150 total yards, while Mickel rushed for 60 yards on only eight carries. Thompsom also rushed for 100 rushing yards, which is notable because the Cowboys are 2-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise. Sidney Davis was in the mix too, providing Chaney with one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chaney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Chaney didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Thompsom and Alex Hill. Chaney received some extra help from Davis, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Chaney's record is now 4-5. As for East, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
