It was another big night for Juan Gonzalez, who threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Concord's leading receiver Erik Madayag was Gonzalez's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Mt. Diablo was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-13 heartbreaker at the hands of McClymonds. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Warriors are ranked 120th).

Concord will need to focus on slowing down Antonio Campbell Iii, one of several Mt. Diablo players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 63 yards and one score. Jamonie Lewis also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.

Concord has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games. As for Mt. Diablo, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Concord was taken down by Mt. Diablo 63-13 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Red Devils' Michael Vasquez, who threw for 283 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.2% of his passes. Now that the Bears know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
