Baseball Recap: Monroe Area Takes a Loss

Monroe Area suffered their closest loss since March 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the West Hall Spartans by a score of 4-2. The Purple Hurricanes just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Monroe Area got a good showing from Ayden Tabone, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Tabone has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Monroe Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Chappell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Monroe Area's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for West Hall, they moved to 5-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Monroe Area had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
