Dawson County posted their closest win since October 3, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Rabun County Wildcats 8-6. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Dawson County let Kaelyn Utech and Bryce Greenwood run wild. Utech went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Greenwood went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI Greenwood has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aubree Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Dawson County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.

Dawson County's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Rabun County, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Dawson County will take on Lumpkin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rabun County, they will face off against Providence Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
