Softball Recap: Rifle Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pueblo East on Friday, Rifle came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the Roosevelt Roughriders on Friday, falling 25-18. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Roughriders recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Rifle got a massive performance out of Brynn Axelson, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ella Jackson, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Rifle's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Rifle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roosevelt, they will face off against Windsor at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Roughriders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wizards have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
