Soccer Game Preview: Academy for Academic Excellence vs. Riverside Prep

Academy for Academic Excellence hasn't had much luck against Riverside Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights will square off against the Riverside Prep Silver Knights at 3:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Academy for Academic Excellence fell victim to Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy.

Meanwhile, Riverside Prep also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against University Prep on Wednesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Silver Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 827th, while the Jaguars are ranked 354th).

Academy for Academic Excellence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Riverside Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Academy for Academic Excellence came up short against Riverside Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Academy for Academic Excellence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
