Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Bakersfield Christian hit Independence with a six-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons lost 13-0 to the Eagles. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Independence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavino Medina, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Bakersfield Christian, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5-1.

While Independence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
