Baseball Game Preview: Spencer Greenwave vs. Kendrick Cherokees

The Spencer Greenwave and the Kendrick Cherokees, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spencer has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Spencer's offense. They came up short against Shaw last Friday, falling 16-0. The Greenwave haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Columbus hit Kendrick with a nine-run second inning last Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cherokees lost 16-1 to the Blue Devils.

Spencer's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Kendrick, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Spencer got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Kendrick by a conclusive 18-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greenwave since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
