Soccer Game Preview: Vacaville vs. Granite Bay

The Vacaville Bulldogs will take on the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vacaville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 14 games.

Vacaville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Antelope onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Antelope with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Katie Thomas, Elena Vera, Sophia Franzoni, and Peyton Troxil.

Meanwhile, everything went Granite Bay's way against Tokay on Tuesday as Granite Bay made off with a 3-0 win. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Tigers are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vacaville's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those nine contests. As for Granite Bay, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Vacaville took their victory against Granite Bay in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vacaville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
