Football Game Preview: Oakley Plainsmen vs. Plainville Cardinals

The Oakley Plainsmen will take on the Plainville Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plainville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oakley, who comes in off a win.

Oakley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Syracuse with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-30. The Plainsmen haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Oakley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eli Schmidt and Carsen Beal.

Meanwhile, Plainville lost to Smith Center at home by a 34-16 margin on Friday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Redmen recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Plainville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oakley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Oakley was taken down by Plainville 53-6 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Plainsmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
