Softball Recap: Freeman Wins Going Away Against North Andrew

Freeman got themselves on the board against North Andrew on Saturday, but North Andrew never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Courtney Holliday was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bryleigh Crouse also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Freeman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Freeman has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for North Andrew, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeman will host Southern/Diller-Odell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Andrew, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast Nodaway at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
