Basketball Preview: Pacific Bay Christian Eagles vs. San Francisco Christian Trojans
Pacific Bay Christian is 10-0 against the Trojans since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The pair will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pacific Bay Christian and ten for the Trojans.
Pacific Bay Christian struggled with assists last Thursday (the Black Bears had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pacific Bay Christian was dealt a 76-24 defeat at the hands of the Black Bears. While losing is never fun, Pacific Bay Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1087th, while the Black Bears are ranked 446th).
Pacific Bay Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Terra Pandolfi, who scored 11 points, and Shahana Andrews who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrews has scored all season.
San Francisco Christian played against the Black Bears and lost via forfeit.
Pacific Bay Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-9. As for San Francisco Christian, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-10.
Pacific Bay Christian strolled past the Trojans in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 36-17. Does Pacific Bay Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
