It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Prairie Central can now relate to. They lost to the Watseka/Milford Warriors on the road by a 56-41 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Warriors are ranked 189th).

Despite the defeat, Prairie Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayla Hammond went 5-for-12 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cami Slagel, who posted seven points and six boards.

Prairie Central dropped their record down to 12-21 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Watseka/Milford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 26-4.
