Softball Recap: Montgomery County Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Montgomery County waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Palmyra Panthers by a score of 5-2. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Reese Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Sam Turner and Anna Klekamp did most of the damage at the plate: Turner went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Klekamp went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Montgomery County's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Palmyra, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Montgomery County will square off against Warrenton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.4 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Palmyra, they will head out to take on Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
