Basketball Game Preview: Windber Ramblers vs. Southern Huntingdon County Rockets

The Windber Ramblers will take on the Southern Huntingdon County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Windber was fully in charge, breezing past North Star 56-10. While fans of the Ramblers might be used to big wins, the 46-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Meanwhile, Southern Huntingdon County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 77-25. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 551st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southern Huntingdon County pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Windber, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Windber and Southern Huntingdon County were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but Windber came up empty-handed after a 60-59 loss.
