Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Johnson Warriors
The Valley Vikings's six-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They managed a 49-44 victory over Johnson. The win was just what Valley needed coming off of a 63-21 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Almetrea Johnson, who scored 19 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Gibson, who scored 12 points.
Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Johnson, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Valley will head out on the road to face off against Florin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Florin comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Johnson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Campus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Campus is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
