Softball Recap: South Effingham Makes It 15 in a Row at Home

South Effingham had won 15 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 16-2 to make it 16. They put the hurt on the Evans Knights with a sharp 13-1 win. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Danni Lynn was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since September 2nd. Another player making a difference was Olivia Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

South Effingham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.

As for Evans, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Evans' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kimariya Hinton, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Effingham beat the Knights by a score of 14-1 later that day.
