Softball Recap: Arabia Mountain Comes Up Short

Arabia Mountain extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-10. They lost 20-2 to the Dunwoody Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in August.

As for Dunwoody, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Considering they have won 12 matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Dunwoody's part, Anslie Worley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Worley was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten contests.

In other batting news, Dunwoody let Brooke Parkes and Kaz McLoughlin run wild. Parkes went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while McLoughlin went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Parkes' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kristina Conn, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Arabia Mountain will venture away from home to challenge Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Dunwoody, they will host Tri-Cities at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.13 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
