Softball Recap: Strasburg Wins Going Away Against Fort Lupton

Strasburg had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Fort Lupton on Friday. The Indians blew past the Bluedevils 22-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2022.

Phebe Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addi Kent, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Wynne Winter was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Strasburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Strasburg now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fort Lupton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Strasburg and Fort Lupton will both be playing Delta the next time they take the field. The Bluedevils will host the Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
