Softball Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Spalding was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They came up short against the LaGrange Grangers, falling 13-2. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Grangers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Spalding saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ra'Khiya Duffie, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Spalding and nudges their season record down to 8-3. As for LaGrange, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Spalding is set to square off against their familiar foe Mary Persons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, LaGrange will challenge rival Troup County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
